Jonny Jonny.. yes papa.. Telling lies... yes papa :D

* The title of this post was changed from 'Lieing to parents' to 'Jonny Jonny.. yes papa.. Telling lies... yes papa :D' cause of two devils. And, this post is not about we lieing to our parents. It is about how our parents can make out every single change in us.
Liging to parents: This is something I just C-A-N-N-O-T do!!! Even if I try to, I end up looking like a jOKEr (I know what you are thinking!! :-P) (Inspite of this I give it a try :D)

One incident is still afresh in my mind. It was about two-and-half years ago. I had to attend one of my colleagues wedding. It was a Christian wedding so it was in the evening. Those days, I had a strict order at home to reach home early and not wander anywhere other than my office. Reason: I was getting married in couple of weeks.

But did that order stop me? NO. I was thinking how bad my friend would feel if I dint attend his wedding. (Ask me if he remembers who all attended his wedding! Ha Ha.) So, we (Me and My friend - partner in *crime*) decided to start early from office and headed to the venue. On way, we had to purchase gift for the couple, find the route and had a fight with the auto guy!! By 7.00 pm we managed to reach the hall. The newly weds were yet to arrive from the church. Meanwhile, we caught up with our colleagues who were around. By then, the couple arrived. Wishes followed. And, I checked the time. It was 7.45!!! We thought to skip the dinner so that we can reach home on time. (and go home and tell our parents we had dinner *another lie*) LOLz.

We ended up having the dinner from the mandap. How can we hurt our friend by not eating at his reception :D? Then, we took an auto back home. Just then my dad called me. I missed a heart beat on seeing call. Thousands of questions were running in my mind – what will he ask? What will I say? How will I manage? Amma is gonna kill me. I recited the lines I had to utter for the question my dad MAY ask, and pressed the green button on my phone. Said ‘yes acha’. (For all the non-malayalee readers (IF ANY haha), Acha means dad in Malayalam). He asked me, ‘Where are you molae?’ (Again, for all the non-malayalee readers, ‘molae’ means ‘dear daughter’). I prompt replied ‘On way home acha..’. Not that I was very good in dialog delivery!! Cause I could clearly guess from my dad’s response that he knew what I was doing.

Not that going to a party without informing parents is a blunder. But, going ANYWHERE without informing your loved one’s is just not the right thing to do!

And, if you are up to ANYTHING without your parents knowledge, just pluck the thought out of you! Cause your parents can notice even a small change in you and can easily guess what you are upto!

Love Kids!!!

There is a lot of change in our lives after my niece walked in. There are few things you have to live with when a little one is around. At their age, innocence is at its peak. Few of the changes which have walked in our life in the name of my lovely niece are as follows.

  • Then: Men in our house used to roll around all the news channels without giving us a chance to peep into other channels.
Now: Neither they watch news channels nor we get to watch our fav channels.
Reason: Dora, Notty (or Noddy??), various rhymes CD, list goes on and on.
This scene indeed is a pleasure to watch. There would be three men (my dad, my hubby and my BIL) sit on the sofa (HELPLESS), and in front of them would be my niece keenly watching the animated characters.
  • Then: We used to skip a heart beat if water falls over the sofa/bed.
Now: We laugh over the little one who tries to pull the sofa covers and pees on it. :-D
Though you get angry over the things these little one does, one smile from her and you are floored! She would change the ‘naksha’ of a well maintained house to a war field.
  • Then: ‘I love sleeping’ Who doesn’t love sleeping?
Now: From sound sleeps at night you will have sleepless nights.
This as a beautiful change in women. Women, who used to long for sleeps and who used to get pissed off when disturbed from sleep, stay awake with their babies in hand through out the night. Probably, that’s motherhood.
  • Then: I had to share chocklates with crispy only.
    Now: Three shares please.
  • Then: we used to address achan and ammaa as ‘acha’ and ‘amma’.
Now: Term them ‘ammacha’ and ‘ammamma’ :-)

List goes on and on….

When the world is fighting for money, fame and recognition, these little one’s will be seriously involved in their works. They would be playing with two glass filled with water, putting their dolls to sleep, trying to open some container and what not.

It is indeed disappointing that these innocent adoring little one’s grow to become what we are today!

Whatever! I just love kids. Love their breath, expression, broken words, naughtiness, smile, laugh…. Gosh.. just love kids!!!

Oh My Sweet Little Niece...

How mean of me! Just one post about my niece!

Yest, my niece responded to me for the first time. I was really thrilled. I was holding her in my hand (she is just a month old) and speaking to her. She was smiling and giving me all sweet expressions and sounds.

Then after playing and talking for a while i handed her to my sis and was walkign out of the room. Man! She started calling me 'aaah ooo'. Gosh felt soooo gooood. When I went near her again she started smiling..

My Mom and sis were commenting 'she knows that if she is good to you, you will give her your lipsticks, eyeliner and other cosmetics. That's y she is talking to u like this heheh'. Already my doggies ate one of my new lipstick. And Gods knows what my niece will be upto!

Babies Babies Babies... This is the only talk around me for past one month! That's cause my sissy delivered a beautiful baby gal last Friday - 6th July!

It's gonna be one of the most unforgettable days of our life. That’s the first time I saw a lady drive in for labour; and that’s the first time I picked up a few hours old new born! I was really scared to hold the newborn, but now handle her with ease!!!

From the time of her birth we have been having lots of people visiting us to see the new mom and our bundle of joy.

I always used to thing of a solid reason on - why a baby sleeps during the day and is awake most of the night - We call it US timing - I never got any reason to this.

This weekend we had a visitor – a Pediatrician. During our conversion he was giving us few medical gyan (not about operations but about child psychology). When I asked him about US timing which new born adopt, he gave me a beautiful explanation.

When the baby is in mom's womb for 9 months, the baby sleeps during the day and wakes during nights. This is cause during the day when mommy walks, babies feels the moment as a swing and falls asleep. Later during the night when mommy sleeps during nights, baby finds it silent and stays awake. After the babies birth, this practice of the baby (sleep during day) continues and it would take about 2 months for the baby to change the habit.

Now that’s y we find most of the little one’s sleeping during the day! This was really a new to me!
