Cycle..

Past is what I cherish cause it has made me what I am today..
Present is what I love cause it will give me beautiful memories..
Future is what I wait for cause it is gonna give me surprises..

Things what I love is what I cherish and wait for more.. So it is indeed a beautiful cycle..

-------

I dont know why am blogging today nor do I know why am feeling so stressed out. Probably at the end of this post I will understand my position better.

I was travelling to my friends place yesterday. There were two other women sitting opposite to me. Now, that I am travelling alone and I dont have anything to do (how long will I click snaps!!), I was now and then looking at these two women. They were foriegners and were countinously chatting in they language. I hardly could understand the language but I was able to make out what they were talking from their expressions. One was worried and talking about a third person and other was consoling. Seeing this I entered my own world of thoughts. Why do human beings speak? To express them. Now, what do human beings speak? I was thinking and thinking and all I could conclude was people speak about 'others' most of the time! Yes! I am not talking about men and women seperately cause I know that Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. ;-P. Most of the time people talk about their friends, cousins, relatives, colleagues, people who have hurt them, who haven't hurt them.. blah blah. Well, when I discussed this topic with my hubby, he refused to agree this.. so please note I said 'Most of the time' and not 'Always'.

Now how can this stress out one? I think am thinking too much these days. Thinking about 'Others'. On what they think, on how not to hurt other, on how to keep others happy, and so on. Well, I should definitely change myself. After all, worrying about one and thinking about what they will feel, should be an agenda in our life but not a checklist.

That's it for now.

oh! u cud have got a better one!

There isn't even one person in this world who hasn't got 'oh! u cud have got a better one!'. You can hear this from most of the people around you.

'oh you should have told me..'
'I would have told u something better'
'oh this is just ok'
'oh! u cud have got a better one!'

Be it your college admission, job, dress, shoe, sock, nuts or whatever!! There is always a negative answer to be told. Next time you are told one, tell them you are in love with what you have!!!

My blog is turning out to be a place where I vent out my displeasure.. awww.. I should change myself.. or shouldn't I?

People and their questions!

I have been noticing something for quite sometime.. Almost each individual in the IT industry wud have seen or faced such situation.

Few months back, I visited a hospital. As a matter of fact, most of the companies send their IT kids to this hospital for their medical checkups before their onsite travel. Even on that day, there were lot of IT kids waiting for their checkups.

I was seated in the reception. Next to me, a lady and her daughter were seated. The lady had accompanied her daughter for the checkup and yeah they looked happy on the reason behind the checkup. The young lady got up and walked into the doctor's cabin leaving her bag and cell with her mom. Minutes later her phone rang. Her mom picked the call. Below is one of the irritating conversations I ever heard! Trust me, I was not eavs dropping. Both the caller and the lady were audible to each member in the recepion cause the hospital had pin-drop silence.

Mom: Hello
Caller: Hi aunty, This is XYZ here. Can I speak to ABC?

Mom: We are in hospital, lady. She is with the doctor.
Caller: Is everything okay aunty?

Mom: Yeah yeah. She has come for her medicals. She will be travelling in a weeks time.
Caller: Yeah aunty. I got the news. Thats y, thought would speak to her. But aunty, she din't inform me about it! I was so happy and suprised to hear the news.

Mom: Yeah lady. She is busy.
Caller: yeah I understand aunty.

Mom: So, when are you flying?
Caller: No idea aunty.

Mom: Ask for one na.
Caller: yeah aunty.

Mom: You will have some salary hike also.
Caller: Hmmm aunty. Okay aunty. Please tell her I called.

Mom: ok lady.
Caller: Bye aunty.

Click.

This situation is not just faced by one. Almost all ITians face this situation. I have noticed that parents of IT kids start asking 'when is ur turn?' once their kids get an onsite oppurtunity.

I cannot explain how irritated I was after hearing the conversation. I couldnt sit next to that lady. I was thinking how the caller would have felt when she was asked about her travel and salary hike. That too by one of her friends mother! These people will not even know about the kind of projects and work their kids are doing. But they use all jargons to project that their kids are working for a reputed company!

It is quite obivous that all ITians will long for an onsite opportunity. They will have their own dreams. When they don't get the opportunity, they will be depressed. And when people start commenting and questioning about it, it is like a snake bit on a hurt wound.

I really wish and pray that people become more sensible. And don't play with others sentiments.

IPL Masthi!

Relationship between Aussies and Indians is surely bound to improve. Indian Premier League (IPL) is surelly gonna heal the wound... atleast to an extent :)

It is good to see players across the globe play together. Hope these matches dont introduce other heart burns... within our own country!

Oh.. wish Bhajji and Symii were in the same team :)

Cricket - Profession or Sport?

There is something about which I wanted to blog for long. None other than our cricket team. Well it is not about how they play or how many ads they act in! It is just about the reaction which people give after each game.

Sometime back the 'hot' news was from the land of kangaroos. The question was if one called another monkey. Yeah, it is true that our boys dealt the scene well. That's another story!

When our boys were home from the win, it was a hungama. Atleast, they were not shown around the place in an open bus ;-P. Well, the show which came the next was talk of the town. I agree that the hosted show was to encourage and hounour them. But was the lumsome gift really necessary? 55 lakhs to each player!

A simple question. Why is the responsibility of a cricker? Play the game and win the match. Then, why is so much hype when they come back after a win? Is it to show that we have won the match or that we have beaten them?

55 lakhs to an aspiring player is not laughable. This is something about which the officials should be more serious and sensible. I wonder where all this money comes from? After a win they are given so much of respect.. and immediately after a loss, their cut-out if burned, their house is stoned and what not! If there is so much time to do such things, am sure there is time to do 'other' valuable things.

The message sent out from all this is unhealthy. Other aspiring players, who want to get into the team, think about all the money and recognition they would get out of the game and not about the game.

Is cricket a profession or a sport?

PS: I am also a fan of the sport. I love the sport as any other does and have great respect for few players.

Learn to say NO!

Recently I witnessed a scene at one of the top most companies in the United Kingdom (yeah u heard it right!).

Well, during the first week of stay in an alian country every human being will think about their home country. And then they will start comparing the country with their own country. Am a normal human being, so I should do the
comparision too. Here I go...

The company has quite big shopping malls in its campus which closes around 6 pm everyday. I was standing near one of the malls. It was about 6.05 pm. I saw a person rushing from one corner of the campus towards this mall. When he came near the mall, I noticed that he was none other than the CEO of the company. He rushed towards the mall and asked for something. The receptionist politely replied 'I'm sorry. We are closed!'. He immediately smiled and replied, 'Oh It's alright. I will pick it tomorrow.' I was spellbound.

If this had happened back in India the store operator/receptionist would have led the CEO inside the mall and let him pick the things. But, will this response be the same if it was a normal employee? Probably it could be their way or showing their respect towards the big shot or could it be that they cannot say NO? Or it could be the fear that 'oh my will this big shot do something if I reject him?'

Probably, It is so because over here (abroad) people are more time oriented. If the receptist says YES and allows the person to pick the things, then probably these might happen:
  • Might miss her bus/train back home
  • Might be late for her evening appointments
  • Might exceed her shift
  • Might be that her KRA says so ;-P

So they clearly send out a message, we are closed after 6. If you want to pick up something, you can come in before six. It is not that they are being harsh (as people think). They are being oriented.

I understand and am aware that there are many people who are strong enough to say NO to what they thing is wrong or whatever! But this post is for the one's, who are reluctant to say NO. Yes, that includes me too :)

Just like how these people have to learn a lot from us, let's also agree that we have to learn a lot from them.
